Important Note

Checklist for Bhutan Tour

  • Valid passport (valid for six months from the date of your trip)
  • One other picture ID, such as driver’s license (in case of emergency and for use as a substitute of passport or incase of loss of your passport) Photocopy of passport page to carry in wallet
  • Air tickets (Make a copy of flight tickets which may be helpful, in case of loss)
  • Visa Clearance (Make a copy of visa clearance which may be helpful, in case of emergencies)
  • MasterCard, Visa Credit and Debit Cards are accepted in Bhutan. However travelers’ cheques and some cash are highly recommended.
  • Mobile (if your cell phone is from CINGULLAR USA or ATNT (USA) operators then your cell phone will work in Bhutan.)

Detail Itinerary

  • Day 01Arrival at Paro Airport after drive to Thimphu (1hour 30 minutes drive). 2320 M.Upon arrival in Paro, clear customs and immigration. Keep your copy of the visa clearance letter handy and your visa has been paid. Meet your Guide and driver outside the terminal building and transfer to Thimphu. Sightseeing around the city in the evening.Overnight in Thimphu ( L/D/A)
  • Day 02Thimphu Sightseeing Full day sightseeing in Thimphu. Visit Memorial Chorten, Zilukha Nunnery, Takin Sanctuary, Indigenous Hospital, Textile Museum, and Heritage Museum, Traditional School of arts & crafts and Tashicho Dzong. Upon available time, you will also visit Zangdopelri temple, paper factory and other sights. Overnight in Thimpu. (B/L/D/A)
  • Day 03Thimphu to ParoAfter breakfast, retrace your drive back to Paro. In Paro visit Tiger’s Nest Monastery (Taktsang)Morning hike to Taktshang Monastery (Tiger’s nest) it is Bhutan’s most recognizable cultural icon perched 800m/2640ft up a seemingly sheer cliff. Although it was tragically and mysteriously consumed by fire in April 1998 it has now been restored to its former glory. It is believed that in the 8th century, the great tantric master Guru Rimopche/ Padmasambhava (2nd Buddha) flew on the back of a tigress to the site where the monastery now stands. (Five hours hike to and from, some gentle and some steep hike, some stony foot path and some good ones) If you ride a horse upward it will cost extra US$25 per person and Farm House, National Museum and Local Market Overnight in Paro.   • Day 04Departure After breakfast, transfer to the airport in time for your departure flight to onward destination. (B)
