About Trip

Tamang Heritage Trek has been designed to promote the ethnic Tamang culture and hospitality in the Langtang region. The trekking trail is located beside the Langtang valley trail, neighbored by the Ganesh Himal region. If you love to explore the ethnic cultural exploration, this trek is highly suitable for you with an experience of home stay accommodation.

Trek in Tamang heritage trail begins from Syabrubesi and directs you towards the Gatlang village. Right from the beginning of the trek, you can enjoy exploring the Tamang cultural scenery along with their typical lifestyles, foods, dresses, cultural heritages and the unified communities that share the family tasks. Tourism has brought a lot of change from nomadic lifestyles to the settled and systematic way outs in the Tamang communities but they are still dedicated towards their ancient way of living and celebrating festivals. During the trek, you can enjoy natural hot spring bath, visit the historical place of Rasuwagadhi and enjoy the home stay facility in Briddim. It is an opportunity to experience the typical lifestyles of the Tamang people and their unique hospitality. The Himalayan views of Langtang Lirung, Ganesh Himal and the Tibetan vicinity can be explored excitingly from the Nagthali viewpoint. Walking through the rhododendron dominated trail, you conclude the trek in Syabrubesi and back to Kathmandu. However, you still have option to join the Langtang valley trek from Lama Hotel, base on your interest.

Outline Itinerary

  • Day 01: Arrival at Kathmandu (1350m)
  • Day 02: Drive by local Bus /Jeep to Syabrubesi 7 to 8 hrs, 1467m.
  • Day 03: Trek to Gatlang 2240 m, 5 hrs.
  • Day 04: Trek to Tatopani 2610 m, 6 hrs.
  • Day 05: Trek to Thuman 2345 m via Nagthali hill 3170m 6/7 hrs.
  • Day 06: Trek to Timure & Tibetan border, 4 hrs.
  • Day 07: Trek to Briddim Vilalge 2239m, 5 hrs.
  • Day 08: Trek to Syabrubesi 4 hrs.
  • Day 09: Drive back to Kathmandu by Jeep/Local Bus.
  • Day 10: Departure.

  • KTM to Syabru Besito KTM by local Bus

Detail Itinerary

  • Day 01Arrival at Kathmandu (1350m) Welcome to Kathmandu. Our airport representative greets you at the international airport on your arrival. After you will be transferred at the hotel then check-in at the hotel, refresh and rest yourself. Your Trekking Guide will briefly explain your trip program in the evening. O/N at Hotel. (A)
  • Day 02Drive by local Bus /Jeep to Syabrubesi 7 to 8 hrs, 1467m.Early breakfast we drive north from Kathmandu to Syabu Besi. We will travel via Trisuli Bazaar to Syabrubesi where we will spend our night. Though passing along the road at the bank of Trishuli River you catch a sight of Ganesh Himal, terraces field and hills. As you pass through Dhunche you feel as if you are heading towards deep land. In the same time you see that the road after Betrawati is still under construction. O/N at Lodge. (B, L, D, A)
  • Day 03Trek to Gatlang 2240 m, 5 hrs.After 2 hours walk to climb up than, we reach the view point from where we can see the unbelievable view of Ganesh Himal, Gosaikunda range and the Goljang valley. And we heading down to Goljang valley for the Lunch which is an hour walking down hill from the the view point. Gatlang the beautiful Tamang village is another 3 hrs walk from Goljang. Upon arrival the guests will be welcome by white scarf and homemade local drinks Rakshi accompany by the welcome song in local language. Get refreshed and enjoy the local tamang dance. O/N at Lodge.   • Day 04Trek to Tatopani 2610 m, 6 hrs.This is longest day would entire trip and will take about 6 hours. We walk begins by downhill to Thangbuchet (near Chilime) River call by Bhotekoshi River. Chilime village Hydropower dam is located here. After the lunch the trail will be climbing up crossing the execution bridge. climb continues until you get to Tatopani which means 'hot water', you can bath yourself in natural hot springs with bathing areas in the lap of the mountains. Locals believe that the waters have a medical quality that ease away your ache and pains. O/N at Lodge. (B, L, D, A)
  • Day 05Trek to Thuman 2345 m via Nagthali hill 3170m 6/7 hrs.Our trails go so continue climb of to nagthali hill .and that is the high open grassland with marvelous views of snow covered Himalayas.Village. After lunch the trek continues ascending to Nagthali Danda. One can enjoy the view and spend some time at the top accompanied by tea prepared by the care taker of the Gompa. Trek down to Thuman, Tibetan unfair Tamang village with friendly people O/N at Lodge. (B, L, D, A)
  • Day 06Trek to Timure & Tibetan border, 4 hrs.Beginning our trekking easy flat trails which descend to Timure route to the old trade way to Tibet. And after lunch at teahouse in Timure we head towards Rasuwa Gadhi, an historical reminder of the Nepal-Tibet relations that has exist for many centuries. A postponement bridge here relations Nepal and Tibet and come back our stay night in timure. O/N at Lodge. (B, L, D, A)
  • Day 07Trek to Briddim Vilalge 2239m, 5 hrs.Crossing through the rhododendron forests and meadows. We beginning towards Briddim, another Tibetan unfair Tamang village located of the Langtang Himal. Mainly of the houses are made up of stone and have roofs of whole tremble. O/N at Lodge.   • Day 08Trek to Syabrubesi 4 hrs.We follow the very popular river Bhotekoshi and on the left side of the valley to the north and then return on the opposite side. Passing through corn fields we finally go down to Syabrubesi. O/N at Lodge. (B, L, D, A)
  • Day 09Drive back to Kathmandu by Jeep/Local Bus. After breakfast catch a local bus or private vehicles to set for Kathmandu. After reach in Kathmandu, you will be taken to your hotel. Have a rest. In evening you can stroll around Thamel, the major tourist destination of Kathmandu. You can do some last minute shopping of souvenirs for your family and relatives.   • Day 10Departure.It’s your final day of the trip in Nepal. On your airport time, our company representative bid farewell and wish for safe journey. (B)
