BUDDHIST TOUR

Apart from the Himalayas, Nepal is admired for its ethnic diversity around the globe. Buddhism, being the second most followed religion in Nepal, you can find plenty of Buddhist traces around the corners of the country. This 6 days long Buddhist tour initiates from Kathmandu valley with the visit to Boudhanath Stupa and Kapan Monastery which holds the religious significance in Buddhism. Boudhanath Stupa is the largest stupa in the world which is also enlisted in the World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Later, we will pave our path towards Lumbini; birthplace of Lord Buddha. We will explore the medieval Maya Devi temple, astonishing Lumbini garden, Pushkarni pool, and Ashoka’s pillar. Our trip ends with drive/fly back to Kathmandu from Lumbini. The major highlights of the tour visit to Boudhanath stupa and Kapan Monastery, sightseeing at Lumbini, visit ancient Buddhist temples and gompas, and insight to glorious Buddhist culture.

  • Day 1: Arrive in Kathmandu-transfer to the hotel.

    Upon arrival, our representative will greet you at the airport and escort you to the Hotel. Free for the day socializing with fellow trip mates and dinner at evening with a brief orientation about the tour.

  • Day 2: Visit Boudhanath and Kapan Monastery within the valley.

    We embark on our spiritual journey by visiting the Boudhanath Stupa encompassed by Tibetan communities, listed in UNESCO world heritage. Just north of the pilgrimage lies Kapan hill, home to the exquisite Kapan monastery.

  • Day 3: Fly or Drive to Lumbini.

    A warm breakfast in the morning uplifts our spirit to fly (35 minutes) or drive (7-8 hours) to Lumbini, another UNESCO world heritage site. As we descend from the valley to the south, we enter Terai, the lowland belt where it is generally humid. We can observe the transition of the backdrop from hills to flat cultivated lands, rivers and forests. Check-in at the hotel in Lumbini.

  • Day 4: Lumbini Sightseeing Tour.

    The whole day is appointed to exploring the place of origin of Lord Buddha, the temples, monuments, monasteries, Holy pond and a museum. We visit the ancient Maya Devi temple, where it is considered that Lord Buddha was born. We also visit Pushkarni pool, Ashoka’s pillar, eternal peace flame and a sacred garden, all adjacent to the temple. We tour other temples and monasteries founded by the followers of Lord Buddha. Then we stop by the Lumbini museum and return back to the hotel. O/N at Hotel.

  • Day 5: Fly or Drive to Kathmandu.

    The last day of the trip involves flying or driving back to the capital city and checking in to the hotel. The surplus time can be utilized in strolling around the valley or some souvenir shopping or relaxing around the clubs in Thamel.

    Today is the official end of our sacred journey. Our representative will see you off from the airport on your scheduled flight as we wish for your safe journey.
