About Bardiya Jungle Safari

Bardiya Jungle Safari takes you through the forests and lands beside the banks of Karnali River and on the foothills of Siwalik Hills. It is the largest protected area in the Terai region of Nepal. The major attractions of this place include one-horned rhinoceros, Asiatic elephant, Gangetic dolphin and much more. The best season to visit this place is during the months of March to June. 

Details Itinerary 

Day 1: Flight from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj and then towards Bardiya

A short flight will take you towards the border city of Nepalgunj from Kathmandu. From Nepalgunj, you will then take a drive towards Bardiya. The road from Nepalgunj to Bardiya is beautiful, as it morphs from flat, Terai lands to green, lush forests and hills. Overnight in Bardiya.

Day 2: Visit the National Park

You will visit the famous Bardiya National Park, considered to be one of the largest protected areas in the Terai region of Nepal. Lying on the banks of Karnali River, the biodiversity of this region consists of animals such as the one-horned rhinoceros, Bengal tigers, and Gangetic dolphins. The visit will circle around the forests where you will be able to witness this fauna in their natural habitat. Overnight in Bardiya.

Day 3: Visit Karnali River and return to Kathmandu.

You will visit the banks of Karnali River, the longest river of Nepal that originates from the Himalayas to become a tributary of the holy Ganga River. The main attraction here is the local food that consists of fresh fish from the river. After a short visit to Karnali River, you will drive back to the capital city, Kathmandu.
