Dwelling in the eastern part of Nepal in Solukhumbu district, Everest region is the paradise of mountains lodging the world’s highest peak; Mt. Everest (8848m) in its territory. The Everest region is eminently influenced by Buddhism and Tibetan culture. The first national park of Nepal, Sagarmatha National Park is the major attraction of this region which bestows an encounter of exclusive flora and fauna. However, the key features of this region are insight to Sherpa settlement, assortment of trip activities like peak climbing, mountaineering etc., and iconic views of mountain ranges such as Mt. Everest (8848m), Mt. Lhotse (8513m), Mt. Nuptse range (7864m), Mt. Makalu (8485m), Mt. Cho Oyu (8201m), and Mt. Ama Dablam (6812m).
Perhaps one of the famous regions in the world, the Everest region is home to the world's renowned Mountain and highest peak Mt Everest. It is in this region that many climbers hopeful find themselves conquering the monumental peak, however, it not simply the peak that gets the attention but rather the journey as well.
The Everest region resides in Solukhumbu district, an area heavily influenced by its Neighbor Tibet, Buddhist practices runs high here, the place is filled with Sherpa villages where devotees offer prayers pilgrimages and stupas. The area is also blessed with monumental scenery, turquoise blue lakes, glaciers, and monasteries. Within this region is Sagarmatha National Park, a world heritage site, the park stretches in a land of 1,148 km and includes deep terrains, alpine rigged areas and wildlife with over 118 species. Most begin their journey in this region from Namche Bazaar which is at 3,500m a starting point for the travelers, where business is bustling despite the remoteness of the area. The most happening amongst all, the area is always surrounded with excitement by tourist and locals alike, where most prepare their mind and body for the adventure ahead.
As one begins this monumental journey, the traveler is graced by the presence of turquoise blue lakes in the Gokyo valley, a breathtaking site in the middle of the gorges. Tengboche is also another site filled with the culture that travelers like to explore, perched in a backdrop of Mount Ama Dablam, it is the biggest Buddhist center in the Khumbu region.
Amidst all the exploration, the one that stands out in this areas has to be the Everest Base Camp (5,380m), trails that lead from of north of Khumbu this trek expedition is a thrilling experience. The travelers in their journey are able to view some of the tallest mountains in the world Mt Lhotse, Mt Amadablam, Mt Thamserku and more. The walkway often passes the massive Bhote Koshi Riveras well, the entire journey proves to be one filled with nature and excitement.
