After staying overnight in the city, we drive for an hour to Nayapul that translates to ‘new bridge’. This place stands as a gateway to Annapurna conservation area. Warm up for our trekking journey has initiated as we trek northward through rice terraces, teahouses, and stupas to the charming Gurung village of Ghandruk overlooking the giant Himalayas.
Day 4: Trek to Tadapani 2,721m, 4 hrs.

Day 6: Trek to Chhistibung 3,100m, 5 hrs.
Each day’s trekking expedition bestows more clear and proximate view of mountains especially Annapurna ranges and Dhaulagiri. Our route today traverses several hills and valleys to reach the farming village of Chhistibung which lies on the lap of Khopra ridge.
Day 7: Trek to Khopra ridge 4,020m 6 hrs.
The trek for today can get a bit difficult as we constantly hike a steeply uphill path. The first half goes through the forest, afterward through bush and meadow. Our hard work is rewarded with the unobstructed view of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountains that look too close and surreal from the top of the ridge.
Day 8: Rest day in Khopra Ridge, trek of Khayer Lake 4,500m 8-9 hrs.
It can be the best morning of your life, waking up to marvel the sun rising from Annapurna peaks to the east and its beams striking the Dhaulagiri to the west. We hike up on the steep slope of the mighty Annapurna mountain range itself to reach Khayer Lake. The pristine lake sits in the lap of Annapurna South (7,219) making it a breathtaking view to witness. After reveling in the beauty and taking gigabytes of snaps we take a u-turn descending back to Khopra ridge.

Contrary to previous treks, this trek is all downhill through the rhododendron and oak forests, terraced hills, and villagers enduring their livelihood on our way to Swanta village.
Day 10: Trek to Ghorepani 2,855m, 4-5 Hrs.
