• Day 1: Drive from Kathmandu to Soti Khola.

    Altitude: 700 meters

    Driving Duration: 10 hours

    Today is the first day of your trip. You will have your breakfast in the morning and our representative will come to pick you at your hotel.

    You will catch a local bus from the bus park which will drive you towards the west of Kathmandu valley. 70 kilometers drive from Kathmandu along the Prithvi highway will lead you to Malekhu.

    From there, you will head towards the northwest to reach Arughat along the Budhi Gandaki river. The route to Arughat is quite bumpy.

    It will take you around 3 hours to reach Arughat. Arughat is a small settlement of Newari people. You will rest for a while in the village of Arughat and then head towards Soti Khola.

    The two hours bus drive from Arughat will take you to Soti Khola. Crossing a bridge over the Budhi Gandaki river, you will finally reach Soti Khola. 

    • Day 2: Soti Khola to Maccha Khola.

      Altitude: 930 meters

      Trekking Duration: 6-7 hours

      Machha Khola is 14 kilometers away from Soti Khola. You will follow the trail to Machha Khola after having your breakfast at Soti Khola.

      The trail passes through several forest and waterfalls today. At first, you will cross the suspension bridge over Soti Khola which will take you to Khursane.

      The route becomes rocky from here. You will cross terrace fields, waterfalls, and cliffs. You will descend towards the rice paddy fields and climb towards Lapu Besi. Lapu Besi is an attractive Gurung village with small settlements.

      You will then walk along the bank of Budhi Gandaki river to reach Khanibesi. Khanibesi will give you an amazing view of Ganesh Himal. From here, you will descend towards the Machhakhola village.

      • Day 3: Maccha Khola to Jagat.

        Altitude: 1,340 meters

        Trekking Duration: 6-7 hours

        You will walk through a narrow route towards Tharo Khola today. The trail is comparatively which you will lead you to Khorlabesi. You will cross a suspension bridge before you reach Khorlabesi.

        The route mostly involves uphill and downhill climbs from Khorlabesi. From there, you will take a brief stop at Tatopani to explore the hot water spring. The trail then takes a steep climb towards Dobhan.

        You will start walking along the stone staircase after crossing a suspension bridge. On walking further, you will come across Thulo Bharyang and continue walking towards the west bank of Budhi Gandaki river.

        After climbing a ridge, the trail will then lead you towards Jagat. Jagat is a small village that sits along the bank of Budi Gandaki river.

        • Day 4: Jagat to Lokpa.

          Altitude: 2,240 meters

          Trekking Duration: 5-6 hours

          You will enter a restricted region of Tsum valley today. So, you will need a restricted area permit. At first, you will walk along the sandy banks of the river.

          The view of Sangrila Himal is spectacular today. You will walk through several uphill and downhill sections.

          On walking further, you will have a slight view of the village of Philim. You will stop for lunch at one of the teahouses in Philim.

          After exploring the village, you will walk towards the Ekle Bhatti route. You will finally enter the Tsum valley and take a final climb to Lokpa.

          Lokpa rewards you with the best view of Ganesh Himal and Sangrila Himal that sits in the opposite direction.

          Overnight at a lodge in Lokpa. 

          • Day 5: Lokpa to Chumling.

            Altitude: 2,386 meters

            Trekking Duration: 6-7 hours

            After a filling breakfast at Lokpa, you will head towards Chumling today. You will take an uphill climb to the top of the reach from where you can observe the incredible Ganesh Himal range.

            You will take a steep ascent towards the Ganesh Himal Base Camp. The trail will then follow the route to Chumling. You will descend to Gumlung and Siyar Khola and cross a suspension bridge.

            After crossing the bridge, you will finally ascend to a narrow trail to Chumling. Chumling is a fascinating village that sits towards the southern direction of Sangrila Himal. Most of the houses in Chumling are classic Tibetan styles.

            Chumling is also popular as the Lower Tsum Valley. You will stay overnight at a lodge in Chumling.  

            • Day 6: Chekampar to Nile.

              Altitude: 3,031 meters

              Trekking Duration: 5-6 hours

              The walk from Chumling to Chekampar is around 10 kilometers. At first, you will cross a suspension bridge which will take you to a new forest.

              On walking through the lush jungles, you will come across white-faced langurs. You will continue walking towards Tanju and small Daphe Gompa. The gompa consists of several ceramic Buddha statues.

              On reaching Dumje, you will have the best views of Ganesh Himal and Baudha Peak. From here, you will take a downhill trail towards Sarphu Khola.

              After walking for about 2-3 hours, you will follow the route to Upper Tsum Valley. You will walk along with the majestic slate chortens towards the village of Chhokang and Paro. Chhokang and Paro are collectively known as Chekampar.

              The stone houses of Chekampar make the village very fascinating to look at.

              • Day 7: Chekampar to Nile.

                Altitude: 3,361 meters

                Trekking Duration: 4-5 hours

                The trek is quite short and easy but you will get to explore a lot today. You will walk towards a local school at Kaye from Chekampar. The route will then lead you towards the twin villages of Ngakyu and Leru.

                Across the river sits the Rachen Nunnery. Before you reach Lama Gaun, the trail involves a low ridge climb with chortens.

                You will explore the Milarepa’s Cave and Burji village. Milarepa’s cave sits at the slope of Langju Himal. On walking a little east from the cave, you will reach at the Chi Pu monastery.

                You will cross the southeast bank of Siyar Khola from where the route will take you to Phurbe. On reaching Phurbe, you will head up towards Pangdun.

                Pangdun consists of a Gompa with a large prayer wheel. Before you enter the large village of Chhule, you will explore the round stupa. On walking further, you will explore the Gonhgye Monastery.

                After crossing the Chhule village, you will take a final ascend to Nile.

                • Day 8: Day Trip to Mu Gompa.

                  Altitude: 3,700 meters

                  Trekking Duration: 3-4 hours

                  The trekking trail today is close to Nepal- Tibet border. From Nile, you will head towards the westward direction. You will have a very short hike from Nile to Mu Gompa.

                  Mu Gompa is the highest point of the trek. It sits at the height of 3700 meters and is 77-year-old Gompa. Mu Gompa gives you the best views of the surrounding mountains and Lungdang Glacier.

                  You will get to see two passes towards the east and west of the Gompa. They are Mailatasachin Pass (5,093m) and Thapla Bhanjyang (,5104m) respectively.

                  You will also hike up to the Pika Himal Base Camp. You will give a visit to Dephyu Dolma Gompa which is 600 years old Gompa.

                  After exploring the Nile Gompa and its surrounding, you will head back towards Nile.

                  • Day 9: Nile to Chekampar.

                    Altitude: 3,031 meters

                    Trekking Duration: 5-6 hours

                    After exploring around the Mu Gompa, you will descend towards Chekampar. From Nile, you will take the route which will take you to Pangdun and then towards Phurbe.

                    The trail from Phurbe will lead you to Rachen monastery. The monastery consists of several large prayer wheels and is decorated with colorful prayer flags which reflects Buddhism.

                    You will then follow the river bank of Siyar Khola towards Milarepa's Cave and then towards Burji village. From the village, the trail will take you to Lama Gaon.

                    A downhill walk from Lama Gaon will take you to the twin village from where you will walk towards Chhekampar. On reaching Chhekampar, you will stay at a lodge. 

                    • Day 10: Chekampar to Chumling.

                      Altitude: 2,386 meters

                      Trekking Duration: 7- 8 hours

                      You will have your breakfast at Chekampar and descend towards Chumling today. You will follow the same trail that you trekked previously.

                      You will walk along the fields of barley, maize, buckwheat, and potatoes. You will now leave the Upper Tsum valley. Along the way, you will have magnificent views of Ganesh Himal and Baudha Peak.

                      Surrounding yourself with the snowy mountains, you will head towards Daphe Gompa. The trail will then lead you to Chekampar after crossing a suspension bridge

                      • Day 11: Chumling to Deng.

                        Altitude: 1,860 meters

                        Trekking Duration: 7 hours

                        Today you will leave the Tsum Valley and walk alongside the Budhi Gandaki river bed. After you cross the river, the path gets steeper for a while and becomes steady near Pewa.

                        From Pewa, you will continue walking uphill until you reach Deng. The mostly involves walking through the Bamboo forest.

                        After crossing the Deng Khola, you will finally reach the village of Deng. The culture and tradition of Deng are similar to those of Tibetans and differ among the people of lower regions.

                        • Day 12: Deng to Namrung.

                          Altitude: 2,630 meters

                          Trekking Duration: 6-7 hours

                          At first, you will start walking along the Budhi Gandaki River and take an uphill climb. After walking for about an hour from Deng, you will reach Rana.

                          From Rana, you will take an ascend towards Bihi Phedi. The route to Bihi Phedi is quite zigzag. You will climb the stone stairs and descend towards charming waterfalls and streams.

                          You will reach the Shringi Khola suspension bridge after walking for about 3 hours from the village. From there, you will ascend towards Ghap village.

                          You will have your lunch in the village and continue walking again. From here, you will walk towards higher areas along the forest of firs.

                          You will continue walking towards a steep climb from Ghap village until you reach Namrung.

                          Overnight at a lodge in Namrung. 

                          • Day 13: Namrung to Lho.

                            Altitude: 3,157 meters

                            Trekking Duration: 3-4 hours

                            From Namrung, you will now trek towards higher elevations. After walking on easy terrain, you will take an uphill steep climb through a forest.

                            On reaching Lihi, you will come across several beautiful chortens along the way. You will walk along with the beautiful view of Himal Chuli and Ganesh Himal towards the east.

                            From Lihi, you will follow the trail towards the valley of Simnang. From here, you will walk towards the Hinang river.

                            On walking further, you will climb uphill towards the village of Shyo. mount Manaslu appears magnificent from this village.

                            Lho is only a few hours walk from the Shyo village. From Shyo, the path drops down into the river and then take an uphill climb until you reach Lho.

                            Lho is a large village that consists of several local monasteries. The village is also a perfect destination for sunrise and sunset viewpoints.

                            • Day 14: Lho to Sama Gaun.

                              Altitude: 3,530 meters

                              Trekking Duration: 3-4 hours

                              Today you will take a short hike from Lho to Sama Gaun. You will see the Budhi Gandaki river flowing below in the north of the trail which passes through Mani wall.

                              You will walk upwards to the mixed forest and take a short ascent towards a plateau. On walking further, you will reach a village of Shyala at 3520 meters.

                              Himal Chuli, Peak 29, Mount Manaslu and beautiful large glacier surrounds the Shyala village.

                              You will walk further to cross a bridge over the Numla Khola. The route will then take you towards Pungyen Gompa. You will descend towards a wide valley, large chortens that will lead you to the main part of Sama.

                              On reaching Sama Gaun, you will see the Kargyu Chholing monastery standing above the far end of the village. 

                              • Day 15: Acclimatization Day in Sama Gaun.

                                Today is a rest day for you. You will explore the architecture and custom of the village. You can also take a short hike towards Birendra Tal and Anie Gompa if you want to.

                                Birendra Tal sits below the Manaslu river. It offers spectacular views of the snowy mountains of the region.

                                If you want you can visit the Pungyen Gompa that sits above the Pungyen glacier. Pungyen Gompa is quite a distance from Sma Gaun. so, you will be physically fit if you want to trek up to the Gompa.

                                After exploring the Gompa, you will head back to Sama Gaun for overnight stay.  

                                • Day 16: Sama Gaun to Samdo.

                                  Altitude: 3,865 meters

                                  Trekking Duration: 3-4 hours

                                  From Sama Gaun, you will descend towards the Budhi Gandaki river. It is an easy walk where you will pass through several Mani Walls.

                                  Further, you will pass through Juniper and Birch forest which will lead you towards the stone walls. Stone walls divide the village of Sama Gaun and Samdo.

                                  You will cross a wooden bridge and walk towards the route to Samdo. Samdo is a remote village with an impressive culture and tradition.

                                  The village offers you with the beautiful views of Samdo peak. Overnight at a lodge in Samdo. 

                                  • Day 17: Samdo to Dharmasala.

                                    Altitude: 4,460 meters

                                    Trekking Duration: 3-4 hours

                                    The trail from Samdo to Dharmasala is quite wide. The route descends down to Budhi Gandaki river. After crossing the river, you will walk along the Mani walls.

                                    You will walk north towards the Panda Danda valley. From there, the route will take you towards the forest of juniper and rhododendron.

                                    The track gets narrow from here. You will ascend towards the Larkya Glacier that sits beyond the Larkya La Phedi. You will finally reach Dharmasala.

                                    Dharmasala is a seasonal village which has several camping areas. The guest house and lodges in the village are simple stone structure designs. 

                                    • Day 18: Dharmasala to Bimthang.

                                      Altitude: 3,590 meters

                                      Trekking Duration: 8-9 hours

                                      Today is a long day of trekking. You will cross the Larkya La Pass today. The pass sits at the height of 5216 meters.

                                      Crossing the pass might be quite difficult as most of the trails get covered with the layers of snow. At first, you will take an ascent over the ridge beside the lateral moraine of Larke Glacier.

                                      Reaching the top of the moraine involves walking through long and rocky routes. You will pass through four frozen lakes as you descend from the pass.

                                      The views of Mt. Himlung, Kang Guru, and Annapurna II look unbelievable. Descending might be quite tricky. So watch your steps!

                                      On walking, you will have amazing views of mountains, rivers, ice falls, glacier lakes and Bimtang glacier. The route to Bimthang is grassy and rocky. On reaching Bimthang, you will have the best views of Mount Manaslu.

                                      Overnight at a lodge in Bimthang. 

                                      • Day 19: Bimthang to Tilije.

                                        Altitude: 2,300 meters

                                        Trekking Duration: 6 hours

                                        The final destination for today is Tilije. You will have your breakfast at Bimthang and head towards Tilije.

                                        You will descend towards a big meadow at Bimthang. From here, you will cross a glacier stream through a wooden bridge.

                                        The trail involves walking through the forest of coniferous and rhododendron trees. This will take you to Hampuk village. You will take a downhill walk along the Dud Koshi River bed from the village.

                                        Walking further, you will reach Karche. The views of Larke, Manaslu, Nadi, and Chuli look excellent. After ascending and descending your way, you will reach to Gho village.

                                        From Gho, you will follow the route towards Tilije village. You will pass through several fields and walk along with the oak and rhododendron trees.

                                        You will finally reach the Gurung village of Tilije where you will stay overnight in a lodge. 

                                        • Day 20: Tilije to Tal.

                                          Altitude: 1,669 meters

                                          Trekking Duration: 3-4 hours

                                          You will cross a bridge over the Dudh Khola after leaving the village of Tilije. You will walk through the agricultural fields and forest of oak and rhododendrons.

                                          Before you reachThonje village, you will pass through several Mani stone walls. After crossing the Marsyangdi river, you will reach Thonje village.

                                          From Thonje, you will take the Annapurna cIrcuit route at Dharapani. Dharapani is a Tibetan village where you will have your lunch.

                                          From Dharapani, you will follow the route towards Tal that sits at the height of 1669 meters. 

                                          • Day 21: Tal to Kathmandu (Drive).

                                            Altitude: 760 meters

                                            Driving Hours: 8-9 hours

                                            Early in the morning, you take a bus to Kathmandu from Tal. It will take you around 8-9 hours drive to reach Kathmandu.

                                            You will drive alongside the riverbanks of Maryangdi and Trishuli river. You will have a scenic view of the unique vegetation, beautiful landscapes, rivers, mountains, hills, etc throughout the journey.

                                            On reaching Kathmandu, you will transfer to your hotel and rest there.
