Itinerary of Ghorepani Poonhill 2 days Trek

Day 1: Drive to Ulleri from Pokhara via Nayapul, Hile, and trek to Ghorepani

Altitude: 2870 meters

Driving Duration: 4 hours

Trekking Duration: 4 hours

On the very first day of your Ghorepani Poonhill trek, you will take a jeep from Pokhara to Ulleri. Pokhara is the second-largest and the most beautiful city of Nepal. The city is very close to the Annapurna Himalayan range. So, you will have a scenic drive from Pokhara to Ulleri.

The route involves driving along the bank of the Modi Khola. The trail crosses the bridge at Birethanti through the villages of Sudame, Hille, Tikhedhunga, and Ulleri.

You will officially start your trek at Ulleri. Today’s trek is comparatively short and easy. You will take an uphill climb towards the forest of oak and rhododendrons until you reach Banthanti. From Banthanti, the route will take you towards Nangethanti.

Ghorepani is just an hour walk from Nangethanti. Ghorepani is a charming Gurung village in the middle of the Himalayas. On reaching Ghorepani, you will stay at one of the teahouses for overnight stay.

Day 2: Hike to Ghorepani Poon Hill, trek back to Tikhedhunga and drive to Pokhara

Altitude: 3210 meters

Hiking Duration: 45 minutes

Trekking Duration: 4-5 hours

Driving Duration: 2-3 hours

You will start your day early in the morning towards Poon Hill to view the sunrise. After walking for about 45 minutes, you will finally reach the viewpoint at Poonhill. The site provides you with a spectacular sunrise over Dhaulagiri and Annapurna ranges. Along with this, you will get to explore a series of other magnificent Himalayas which will take your breath away.

After exploring the stunning views from the top of Poonhill, you will head back to Ghorepani. You will have your breakfast at Ghorepani and trek your way back to Tikhedhunga via Nayapul.

On reaching Tikhedhunga, you will see our transport waiting for you. You will drive back to Pokhara with the scenic views of mountains, terraced farming, rivers, local settlements, etc.
