If your answer is a yes, then this Short Everest Panorama Trek is the perfect getaway you can indulge yourself into. This 7 days journey will take you to the gateway to Mt. Everest, and will give you a closer view of peaks like Kongde RI, Thamserku, Everest, Ama Dablam, etc. 

The Short Everest Panorama View Trek includes trekking from Lukla to Phakding, Namche Bazaar, Khumjung village, and back. Though short, this trek will provide you with an excellent exposure to the Himalayan beauty and Tibetan Sherpa culture. The flight to Lukla airport itself is an adventure; spectacular aerial views from the twin otter and the anticipation will certainly make the flight you will remember for a lifetime. Throughout the journey, you can experience a rich biodiversity even in such harsh climates. This short Everest panorama trek passes through Sherpa villages like Monjo, Namche Bazaar, Khumjung, Khunde, etc. and the pretty houses in these villages compliment the landscape even more. 

The best time to set into this journey is mid-September to mid-November. Spring (March-may) is also a preferred time as the flowers bloom making the scenery magical. Outline Itinerary

  • Day 01: Arrival at Kathmandu, (1350m).
  • Day 02: Fly to Lukla (2800m) 30 mins and trek to Phakding (2652m) .
  • Day 03: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3440m).
  • Day 04: Rest Day at Namche Bazaar in Khumjung Village.
  • Day 05: Trek down to Lukla (2800m).
  • Day 06: Fly Back to Kathmandu.
  • Day 07: Departure to International Airport.

  • Lunch and Dinner while you are in Kathmandu city.
  • Extra night accommodation and meals if early departure from the mountain.
  • Excess baggage more than 15kg for Lukla flight.
  • Nepal visa fee (You can apply for Online or you can easily issue the visa on arrival at International Airport Kathmandu.
  • Travel and rescue insurance (necessary).

Detail Itinerary

  • Day 01Arrival at Kathmandu, (1350m).After you land at Tribhuvan International Airport, Index Adventure will pick you up. We will then drop you at the hotel. Once you are freshened up, we will brief you about the trek. After some lunch or snacks, you can stroll around the Kathmandu Valley.
  • Day 02Fly to Lukla (2800m) 30 mins and trek to Phakding (2652m) .On the second day of the trek, we will fly from Kathmandu to Lukla. The 30 minutes flight in a twin otter is beautiful and daunting at the same time. Once we reach Lukla, we will start our trekking journey to Phakding. A 3 hours walk through a beautiful village and with fascinating views of the mountains will take us to Phakding.
  • Day 03Trek to Namche Bazaar (3440m). 5-6 hours trek from Phakding to Namche Bazar is a beautiful journey. The trail has a lot of steady uphill climb through stone staircases. Passing through the village of Monjo, we will enter the Sagarmatha National Park. The resting spot for the night in Namche Bazar, which is the gateway to Mt. Everest.
  • Day 04Rest Day at Namche Bazaar in Khumjung Village.This day will be a rest day at Namche Bazar. Hiking to Khumjung and Khunde villages, we can experience the Sherpa culture and lifestyle. The total hike includes 4-5 hours of walk. We can witness Chorten, Gumbas, colorful prayer flags and taste delicious mountainous cuisines along the journey. From Khumjung village, we can witness Khumbila peak, Mt. Everest, and many other peaks.
  • Day 05Trek down to Lukla (2800m). After spending a day at Namche Bazar and Khumjung village, we will descend down to Lukla. We will cross the Dudh Koshi River once again, and pass through the ecstatic landscape with scenic mountain views. The day includes 6-8 hours of walk.
  • Day 06Fly Back to Kathmandu.On this day, we will fly back to Kathmandu to Lukla. We can enjoy the aerial view of the majestic mountains as the undulating hills once again. On reaching Kathmandu, we can visit some of the heritage sites like Basantapur Durbar Square, Patan Durbar Square or Swayambhunath Nath Stupa. We will have a farewell dinner with authentic Nepali cuisine to celebrate the successful short trek.
  • Day 07Departure to International Airport.On this day, we will drop you to the airport for your departure.

How much should I tip my guide and porter?

Tips are appreciated by your support team after the trip. The amount depends on your budget and appreciation of their work. Some trekkers give 10% of the total tour cost as tips. This is absolutely your choice, make the best of it. Only you can decide this.
