TAMANG HERITAGE TREK

Tamang Heritage trek takes you to the picturesque Tamang villages in the vicinity of Langtang region alongside bestowing the pleasuring experience of vibrant Tamang culture and unbound natural beauty. This 10 days Tamang Heritage trek initiates from Kathmandu with the drive to Sybrubensi from where we will initiate our hike towards Gatlang (2,240m); the vantage point from where we can relish the spectacular views of Ganesh Himal, Gosainkunda, and Goljang valley. From Gatlang we will head to Thuman (2,338m) via Nagthali hillock. The entire trek is accompanied by alluring landscapes, mountain delights, and beautiful Tamang villages. As we trek further we reach Briddim village (2,229m) via Timure. You can enjoy the heartwarming homestay in Briddim village. Later, we will pave our path back to Sybrubensi and drive back to Kathmandu. The major highlights of the trek are stunning views of iconic mountains including Mt. Langtang Lirung, Ganesh Himal and other Tibetan peaks, witness to spectacular Tibetan Buddhist Culture, exploration of natural hot spring at Tatopani and pleasing trekking trials.

  • Day 1: Arrival at Kathmandu (1,350m).

    Welcome to Kathmandu. Our airport representative greets you at the international airport on your arrival. After you will be transferred at the hotel then check-in at the hotel, refresh and rest yourself. Your Trekking Guide will briefly explain your trip program in the evening. O/N at Hotel. (A)

    • Day 2: Drive by local Bus /Jeep to Syabrubesi 7 to 8 hrs, 1,467m.

      Early breakfast we drive north from Kathmandu to Syabu Besi. We will travel via Trisuli Bazaar to Syabrubesi where we will spend our night. Though passing along the road at the bank of Trishuli River you catch a sight of Ganesh Himal, terraces field, and hills. As you pass through Dhunche you feel as if you are heading towards deep land. In the same time you see that the road after Betrawati is still under construction. O/N at Lodge. (B, L, D, A)

      • Day 3: Trek to Gatlang 2,240 m, 5 hrs.

        After 2 hours walk to climb up than, we reach the viewpoint from where we can see the unbelievable view of Ganesh Himal, Gosaikunda range, and the Goljang valley. And we heading down to Goljang valley for the Lunch which is an hour walking downhill from the viewpoint. Gatlang the beautiful Tamang village is another 3 hrs walk from Goljang. Upon arrival, the guests will be welcomed by the white scarf and homemade local drinks Rakshi accompany by the welcome song in the local language. Get refreshed and enjoy the local Tamang dance.         • Day 4: Trek to Tatopani (2,607m) 6/7 hrs walk.

          You enjoy the sightseeing of Langtang range and Ganesh Himal. At Tatopani which naturally produces ‘hot water', you can take a hot bath in natural hot springs with bathing areas right in the laps of the mountains. It is believed that taking a dip in this spring will heal you from your aches and pains. This day's trekking provides you an opportunity to experience some important facets of the Tamang culture.           • Day 5: Trek to Thuman (2,338m) via Nagthali hillock – 6-7 hrs walk.

            This is also a short day where we will stop at Thuman. Since Tamang heritage trails are mostly steep and ascend and descend, it is better to make short journeys and enjoy talking with the people and knowing about their culture. People from Thuman will entertain you by singing and dancing. If you want then you can also join with them. They will help you feel homely in their friendly environment. En route you may encounter animals like monkeys and deer. The panoramic view of Langtang, Kerung, Ganesh Hima and Sanjen ranges can be distinctly experienced from Nagthali. Nagthali used to be a popular meditation center for the local monks and priests. Another cultural village, Thuman, is popular for its Shamanic performances and beautiful view of Langtang. Beautiful views of the mountains can be seen from every house in Thuman. Overnight at our lodge on full course meals.O/N at Lodge. (B, L, D, A)

            • Day 6: Trek from Thuman to Timure (1,762m.) which takes about five hours.

              While trekking from Thuman to Timure you can visit nearby historical Rasuwagadi. This day's trekking grants you an opportunity to observe Tibeto Burman Tamang culture in two of the villages on the way. Timure is on the old trade route to Tibet. A fort here is a historical reminder of the Nepal Tibetan relations that have existed for many centuries. A suspension bridge here links Nepal and is very near to the Tibet border. We stay overnight at a homestay guest house (B, L, D, A)

              • Day 7: Trek to Briddim village (2,229m) 5/6 hrs walk.

                You can experience the village life of Briddim and enjoy a cultural show performed by community members. You can also experience a homestay and Tamang culture. To mention a little about Briddim, it is a Tibetan Buddhist village in the bosom of Langtang Himal. Around 43 houses are spread in a Z shape. Most of the houses are made up of stone and have roofs of split shake. As direct descendants of ancient Tibetan immigrants, the culture and tradition of Briddim closely resemble that of Tibetan villages. O/N at Lodge. (B, L, D, A)

                • Day 8: Trek to Syabru Besi 3 hrs walk.

                  You trek from Briddim to Syabrubesi via Wangel. This day the trail moves along a gently descending path passing through villages, terraces and magnificent views of surrounding hills. Stay overnight at our teahouse lodge with all meals.O/N at Lodge. (B, L, D, A)

                  • Day 9: Drive back to Kathmandu by Jeep/Local Bus.

                    After breakfast catches a local bus or private vehicles to set for Kathmandu. After reach in Kathmandu, you will be taken to your hotel. Have a rest. In evening you can stroll around Thamel, the major tourist destination of Kathmandu. You can do some last minute shopping of souvenirs for your family and relatives. O/N at Hotel (B, L, A)

                    • Day 10: Departure.

                      It’s your final day of the trip in Nepal. On your Airport time, our company representative bid farewell and wish for safe journey. (B)
