14 days Everest Base Camp Trek Map

Kathmandu - Lukla

Kathmandu- 1350 meters

Your Everest Base Camp trek begins from Kathmandu and it concludes at the same place.

Once you are in Kathmandu you can get to interact with your guide and porter and enjoy the welcome dinner hosted by our team. Also, before the actual trek, you can take short strolls around the Kathmandu valley and enjoy the Nepali lifestyle.

The following day you will take an early morning flight of 45 minutes to land at Lukla airport. This is the actual trek-head of your trek to Everest Base Camp.

Flying from an altitude of 1300 meters you will land at Lukla at an altitude of 2860 meters.

Lukla - Phakding

Phakding- 2652 meters

Trek Distance: 9 km

Walking hours: 4 hours

From Lukla, you start your trek to the beautiful Phakding village. On crossing the Dudh Koshi river you walk past the Sherpa villages, exotic landscapes, the forests of Rhododendrons and finally reach your final destination of the day. There are enough teahouses and restaurants in the village for your comfy overnight stay.

Phakding - Namche Bazar

Namche Bazar- 3440 meters

Trek Distance: 12 km

Walking hours: 6 hours

After early morning breakfast, you set off from the tea house in Phakding to the famous business hub of the Everest region- Namche Bazaar. Once you reach the Himalayan side town, you get to catch the first glimpse of Mt. Everest including other snow-covered peaks on a clear day.

Since EBC trek is a high altitude trek, you will have much risk of altitude sickness if you do not spend enough time on acclimatization. Every day you ascend to a new height in this trek, so you must be very careful while proceeding further.

For this reason, you will spend your first acclimatization day at Namche Bazar. You go on short acclimatization hikes to Khunde, Khumjung and the Everest View Hotel.

Namche Bazar - Tengboche

Tengboche- 3867 meters

Trek Distance: 10 km

Walking hours: 6 hours

After a rest day and adaptation with the increasing altitude, you then proceed to Tengboche.

On walking past the typical Sherpa settlements you will reach the oldest monastery of the region- Tengboche Monastery. At the monastery, you get to interact with the priests, sages and learn about Buddhist practices.

Also, on clear days you get to enjoy the panoramic views of the chain of snow-covered peaks.

After interaction with the locals and the Buddhist preachers, you will spend the night at a tea house in Tengboche.

Tengboche - Dingboche

Dingboche- 4350 meters

Trek Distance: 12 km

Walking hours: 6 hours

The other day you will leave the village for Dingboche. On crossing the massive boulders and rivers you will catch a spectacular glimpse of Mt. Ama Dablam on reaching Dingboche.

This is a high altitude region so you must be very careful before ascending further. So, you will spend an extra day here for acclimatization.

You will get enough tea house for comfortable rest and night stays at Dingboche.

Dingboche - Lobuche

Lobuche- 4940 meters

Trek Distance: 12 km

Walking hours: 7 hours

After catching the early morning views of Mt. Ama Dablam you will leave for Lobuche village. En route you will witness the mountaineers preparing for Lobuche peak climbing in the peak seasons. Plus, you will catch the enticing views of the giant peaks and the adventurous landscapes.

Overnight stay at a teahouse in Lobuche.

Lobuche - Gorak Shep - Everest Base Camp

Gorak Shep- 5170 meters

Everest Base Camp- 5364 meters

Trek Distance: 15 km

Walking hours: 8 hours

On proceeding further you walk towards a village near to the Everest Base Camp ie Gorak Shep. En route you witness the memorials of the dead mountaineers and spend some time commemorating their daring nature.

On walking further you reach a tea house at Gorak Shep. The same day you will walk to Everest Base Camp after some rest at Gorak Shep. You will spend some time at the base camp, enjoy the scenic views, catch the glimpse of the great Himalayas, and return to the tea house at Gorak Shep for the overnight stay.

Gorakshep - Kala Patthar - Pheriche

Kala Patthar- 5545 meters

Trek Distance: 13 km

Walking hours: 7 hours

The next morning you leave early for Kala Patthar. This is the highest point you will walk to in this trek. And, it is the most popular vantage point for the best views of Mt. Everest.

After catching the finest views of Mt. Everest, you will walk back towards Lukla. Keeping the fresh views of the mountains and the serene landscapes in your eyes you descend to Pheriche for an overnight stay.

Pheriche - Namche Bazar

Pheriche- 4240 meters

Trek Distance: 14 km

Walking hours: 8 hours

Following your footsteps back you will walk down the forests of Rhododendrons and Magnolias. On walking back you will witness the sea of mountains accompanying you. Walking down you will conclude you walk for the day at a tea house at Namche Bazar.

Namche Bazar- Lukla

Trek Distance: 15 km

Walking hours: 8 hours

This is the final day of your walks. After the breakfast, you will gradually descend to Phakding village and then ascend to the Lukla airport to catch a flight to Kathmandu.

This is the last time you will witness the white smiling peaks bidding you a warm farewell. On reaching Kathmandu you will enjoy the farewell dinner at Kathmandu and the following day leave for your home.
