The 10 days Langtang Valley Trekking can turn as a time well spent if you are a person who enjoys walking in your own space, surrounded by nature. The warm, welcoming gestures at your arrival makes the stay comfortable and gives you additional power to continue trekking. The cold refreshing breeze fades in you as you walk past terrains viewing the fantastic landscape and the mesmerizing snow peaks such as the Ganesh, Kerung and Langtang ranges.

The Tamang and Buddhist cultures make the Langtang Valley Trek even more interesting. The colorful pray flags on the monastery add up to the beauty of what Langtang Valley Trekking has to offer. The tea houses you come across on the trekking route offers delicious meals energizing you. The monastery Kyangin Gompa is the highlight of the Langtang Valley Trek. As you ascend to Tserko Ri (4990m) from Kyangin Gompa, the cold refreshing breeze fades you with a fantastic landscape with close up view of Tserko Ri.There is a possibility that you can see a red panda, musk deer, Himalayan black beer, Himalayan Thar, Ghoral, rhesus monkey and the Langur; depending on the trekker's luck. The chirping birds, walk by the clear river and through the jungle, rocks, glacier makes every step on the Langtang Valley Trek a memorable one.

As per the local belief, the red rock situated at Langtang Valley Trek route got the reddish appearance after a yak of a holy man was found dead in the then placed named Langsisa, now famously known as Langtang. Lang stands for Yak and Sisa stands for dies. It is also highly recommended that you trek during spring which falls from March to May and during autumn which falls from September to November if you want to avoid trekking during the winter as the weather is crucial for any trek to be joyous.

Devastating earthquake 2015 made severe damage in Langtang region. But after two years of an earthquake, Langtang was ready to serve the tourists.  As of now, teahouses were re-build in most of the trekking destinations and along the trekking trails. Trekking trails condition is safe and sound to walk. Langtang valley is as beautiful as it was and besides that, through this trekking, you will helping communities in improving their livelihood. Outline Itinerary

  • Day 01: Arrival at Kathmandu (1350m).
  • Day 02: Drive from Kathmandu to Syabru Besi (1467m) – 7-8 Hours.
  • Day 03: Trek from Syabru Besi to Lama Hotel (2470m) - 5 Hours.
  • Day 04: Trek from Lama Hotel to Langtang Village (3430m) - 6 Hours.
  • Day 05: Trek from Langtang Village to Kyangin Gompa (3870m) - 3 Hours.
  • Day 06: Trek to Tserko Ri (4,990m) back To Kyangin Gompa.
  • Day 07: Trek from Kyangin Gompa to Lama Hotel - 2490m - 6 Hours.
  • Day 08: Trek down to Syabru Besi [2000m].
  • Day 09: Drive back to Kathmandu by Jeep/Local Bus.
  • Day 10: Departure to International Airport.

Detail Itinerary

  • Day 01Arrival at Kathmandu (1350m).The journey of the trek starts once the trekker arrives at Kathmandu. You can stroll around Thamel and local markets where you can find the handmade products and enjoy Nepali cuisine.
  • Day 02Drive from Kathmandu to Syabru Besi (1467m) – 7-8 Hours. Next day, you will be leaving from Kathmandu and traveling through road. You will be seated for 7-8 hours until you reach Syabru Besi. You can also enjoy the local cuisines and then take proper rest.
  • Day 03Trek from Syabru Besi to Lama Hotel (2470m) - 5 Hours.The trek from Syabru Besi begins following the Langtang River flowing to the east direction. You will have to cross over a bridge over the Langtang River then walk past the trail reaching to the Lama Hotel.
  • Day 04Trek from Lama Hotel to Langtang Village (3430m) - 6 Hours.On the following day, you will be trekking for 6 hours to reach Langtang Village. The view of Langtang Lirung, Ganesh Himal, Shisapangma, and Kerung is clearly visible during the trek to Lama Hotel. You also come across several stone houses. You also come across places named Ghoda Tabela, Mundu, and the Buddhist monastery before reaching the Langtang Village.
  • Day 05Trek from Langtang Village to Kyangin Gompa (3870m) - 3 Hours.Buddhist monastery Kyangin Gompa is the highlight of the Langtang Valley Trek. We pass through yak pastures. The last tea houses are found here at Kyangin Gompa. You can also taste the mouthwatering local cheese made at the cheese factory near the Gompa.
  • Day 06Trek to Tserko Ri (4,990m) back To Kyangin Gompa.On the 6th day, we will hike to Tserko Ri early in the morning, remains at an altitude of 4990 meters, the topmost place to view the whole Langtang Valley. Tserko Ri provides the 360-degree view of the Langtang valley and Himalayas. The major mountains are Langtang Himal, Dorje Himal, Kamja la Himal, Langtang Lirung (7234m), Kimoyoshung (6780m), Dragpoche (6582m), Shalbachum (6707m), Pemthang Karpo RI (6830m), Langshisa Ri (6413m) and Dorje Lakpa (6966m). We will then have to trek back to Kyangin Gompa the same day.The overall journey will take place in 8 hours.
  • Day 07Trek from Kyangin Gompa to Lama Hotel - 2490m - 6 Hours.After the visit to the Buddhist monastery Kyangin Gompa, the downhill trek Lama Hotel begins.
  • Day 08Trek down to Syabru Besi [2000m].After walking downhill for a whole day, you finally reach Syabru Besi. You are exhausted but exhilarated on the same level.
  • Day 09Drive back to Kathmandu by Jeep/Local Bus.On the next day, you travel back to Kathmandu, the place from where your trekking journey started. Once you reach Kathmandu, you can always opt for a night out or rest.
  • Day 10Departure to International Airport.The Langtang Valley Trek comes to an end after you comfortably reach the International Airport for catching your flight to get back to your home.

How much should I tip my guide and porter?

Tips are appreciated by your support team after the trip. The amount depends on your budget and appreciation of their work. Some trekkers give 10% of the total tour cost as tips. This is absolutely your choice, make the best of it. Only you can decide this.
