Mardi Himal Trekking Itinerary

Dwelling towards the east of Annapurna Base Camp beneath the magnificent Machhapuchhre, Mardi Himal trek is one of the lurking trekking destinations of Nepal. This 10 days trek to Mardi Himal initiates from Kande and ends at Siding village. Since the vicinity is newly renowned for trekking, you will barely find any tea houses amid your trek, however, home-stays are the ultimate option for accommodation. The trekking trail encompasses you through alluring rhododendron forest and stone houses. Mardi Himal Base Camp (4,500m) is the highest point of the trek. The key features of this trek are panoramic views of iconic mountains including Fishtail (6,993m), Annapurna South (7,010m) and Mt Hiunchuli (6,441m), exploration of rhododendron forest enriched with exotic wildlife, insight to native local lifestyle and absolute landscapes. The best season to head for this basal trek is autumn and spring when skies are clear bestowing astounding views.

  • Day 01: Arrival at Kathmandu (1350m)
    Nepal welcomes you at its only international airport in the capital, Tribhuwan International Airport, where you’ll feel welcomed right after you land in the country. Overnight at a hotel in Thamel, Kathmandu.

  • Day 02: Drive to Pokhara (820m)
    After breakfast in a hotel, we’d drive approximately 7 hours long covering 200 km from the city of temples to the city of lakes. Overnight at a hotel in Lakeside, Pokhara.

  • Day 03: Drive to Kande, trek to Forest Camp (2,500m)
    In the morning, we’ll drive to Kande which is almost an hour drive in a cab. Then, we begin our first trek of the tour to the Forest Camp situated at 2,500m altitude which can be 7 hours long. On our way, we’ll come across beautiful forests filled with rhododendron. Overnight in a Lodge camp.

  • Day 04: Trek to Low Camp (2,970m)
    Next morning, we’ll begin our trek to Low Camp. Located at 2,970m above the sea level, we’ll be trekking for 4 hours. Low Camp hosts the beautiful view of Mt. Machhapuchhre where we’ll be staying overnight in a Lodge camp.

  • Day 05: Trek to High Camp (3,550m)
    Trekking from low camp to high camp may be tough due to the altitude, but there won’t be a single bit of regret when we trek along with the beautiful view of Mt. Annapurna beside us. After 4 hours of trek, we’ll be reaching 3,550m the High Camp. Overnight in a Lodge camp.

  • Day 06: Hike up to Upper View Point (4,500m), back to High Camp
    Waking up with the view of mountains may feel good, what feels better is when you know you’d be right next to one after few hours. After early sunrise view from the High Camp, we proceed on our trek to Upper View Point where we take an excursion to Mardi Himal Base Camp. We’ll stumble across yaks as well as the beautifulDanfe. After trekking for 4 and a half hour, we’ll be reaching highest altitude of the trek i.e. 4500 m. After some sightseeing, we trek back to the High Camp. Overnight in Lodge camp.

  • Day 07: Trek to Siding Village (1,750m)
    Next morning, we’ll trek downhill to Siding Village which is still one of popular stop for trekkers following route to Mardi Himal. About 6 hours of the walk would be enough to reach this village where we’d be staying overnight at a local home-stay.

  • Day 08: Siding Village to Pokhara
    We bid thanks to the locals and head to Pokhara where we have to walk for 3 hours to reach Lumre. From Lumiere, we’ll take a jeep and drive back to the city. Overnight at a hotel.

  • Day 09: Drive to Kathmandu
    In the morning, we’ll depart from the hotel to Tourist Bus Stop where a coach will take us to Kathmandu. Arrival at the capital. Overnight at a hotel.

  • Day 10: Departure to International Airport.
    Representatives from Index Adventure will escort you to the Tribhuvan International Airport and bid a warm farewell and wishes you the safe journey.
