                                                                                     Holy Lake Of Hindu Gosaikuda 

Providing the beautiful panoramic view of towering mountain tops and colossal freshwater lakes is the short Gosainkunda Lake trekking route at an altitude of 4380 meters. Famous Himalayan ranges seen are Langtang, Annapurna ranges, and Ganesh Himal. Gosainkunda Lake trekking has mountainous geographical structure amongst forest and countryside villages. This itinerary lies in the Everest region and is of moderate difficulty. Gosainkunda Lake has its distinctive religious importance in Hinduism and Buddhism. Based on the Hindu myth, Lord Shiva is said to have extracted holy water by thrusting his trident (Trishul) into the mountain to cool his throat after swallowing poison hence forming the present day Gosainkunda Lake. This region has people of different ethical groups like Newar, Brahman, Chhetri, Gurung, etc. settling together. Rasuwa, the district where Gosainkunda is located, shares border with China. So, Tibet shares quite a bit of Buddhism influence and culture with locals of Gosainkunda area. There is a lot of local life and natural sceneries to witness along the beautiful trail. Gosainkunda Lake trekking is a perfect escape from busy urban lifestyle to get lost in the untouched and unpolluted parts of nature. Guest houses and lodges are available for guest accommodation.  This Gosainkunda Lake Trekking is designed for minimum 2 people.

Devastating earthquake 2015 made severe damage in Langtang region. But after two years of an earthquake, Langtang was ready to serve the tourists.  As of now, teahouses were re-build in most of the trekking destinations and along the trekking trails.   • Day 04: Trek from Gosainkunda to Sing Gompa (3,580 m). 5-6 hours walk.
  • Day 05: Trek from Sing Gompa to Dhunche (1,764 m). 5-6 hours walk.
  • Day 06: Drive from Dhunche to Kathmandu (1,400 m).7-8 hours’ drive.

Detail Itinerary

  • Day 01Drive from Kathmandu to Dhunche (1,764 m).7-8 hours’ drive.We set off for the day with a drive from Kathmandu. It is 7-8 hours long drive north-west from Kathmandu to the destination of Dhunche which is approximately 43.5 km.
  • Day 02Trek from Dhunche to Sing Gompa (3,580 m).5-6 hours walk.The second day of this trip includes trek from Dhunche to Sing Gompa which can take anywhere between 5 to 6 hours walk to complete the 7.0 km long trek for the day. Walking through pine and rhododendron forests, this trek is full of scenic beauty.
  • Day 03Trek from Sing Gompa to Gosainkunda (4,380 m). 5-6 hours walk.The third day consists of hiking for 5 to 6 hours for about 8.8km from Sing Gompa to Gosainkunda Holy Hindu temples like Shiva Mandir, Gosainkunda Mahadev, and Trishul Dhara can be explored in around this destination. The sacred area of Gosainkunda Lake has other glacial lakes including Bhairab Lake, Nilkantha Lake, Surya Lake and many more.
  • Day 04Trek from Gosainkunda to Sing Gompa (3,580 m). 5-6 hours walk.This day of outing calls for a trek from Gosainkunda to Sing Gompa. It is 5 to 6 hours walk at an altitude of 3,580 meters. We pass through Lauribinayak looking at the magnificent view of soaring mountains and vibrant hills.
  • Day 05Trek from Sing Gompa to Dhunche (1,764 m). 5-6 hours walk.On this day of the short Gosainkunda Lake Trekking, encompasses 5 to 6 hours walk from Sing Gompa to Dhunche at an altitude of 1,764 meters. You can explore Dhunche heliport and Kapan Monastery around the location.
  • Day 06Drive from Dhunche to Kathmandu (1,400 m).7-8 hours’ drive.The very last day of this short trek, Day 6, comprises of 7 to 8 hours’ drive at 1,400 meters altitude from Dhunche to Kathmandu. This drive marks the end of the adventurous short Gosainkunda Lake trekking.
