About Ghorepani Poonhill – Short Trek

The trek is a mix of nature trials alternating between uphill and downstairs built into the mountainside with a good deal of teahouses en route. Ghorepani is a serene village that lies within the Annapurna Conservation Area and houses major linking trials along with the abundant number of lodges which makes it a gateway to nearby Poonhill, the finest viewpoint of Annapurna trekking area.

Poonhill is the most remarkable location of Nepal which offers an overwhelmingly striking vignette of the greatest Himalayas distinctly the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges and Mt. Fishtail, Mt. Manaslu, Lamjung, etc. that too from a relatively modest altitude of nothing more than 3210 meters (10,532ft). Detail Itinerary

  • Day 01: Arrival to Kathmandu (1350m)
    Welcome to Kathmandu. Our representative will receive you and escort you to the hotel. The day can be spent sightseeing around the capital city or taking rest as desired.
  • Day 02: Fly/Drive to Pokhara
    Today we leave Kathmandu and fly (25 min) or drive (6-7 hours) to Pokhara, another great city of Nepal. The feature of this day is traveling with the company of rumbling rivers and lush green hills apace with an obvious Himalayan backdrop.
  • Day 03: Drive to Nayapul and trek to Hile
    After a pleasant breakfast in the beautiful Pokhara city, we ride for an hour to Nayapul, a bridge that kicks off our trekking expedition. Following the rivers, we hike parallel to many quaint settlements, rice fields, and waterfalls till we reach Hile to rest for the night.
  • Day 04: Trek to Ghorepani
    Buckle up for a steep uphill stone staircase climb of more than 3500 steps (4-5 hours) up to Ulleri with the view of giant Annapurna South. The fatigue will soon disappear as we enter the brilliant rhododendron forests, colorful flowers crossing small streams until we reach Ghorepani.
  • Day 05: Trek to Poonhill and back to Nayapul then drive to Pokhara
    Rise and shine for the pre-dawn trek of one hour ascending to our destination point Poonhill to be blessed by the diorama of the world’s prominent Himalayas turning golden as the rays of the early sun touches the crust. This auspicious day is the same day we take a return trip back to Nayapul and then to Pokhara.
  • Day 06: Fly/Drive back to Kathmandu
    Wake up for a hot breakfast in Pokhara and we ride back to Kathmandu city. The remaining hours can be spent with some last-minute exploring of the capital city, shopping for memento and packing. Farewell dinner with fellow trip mates.
  • Day 07: Final departure from Kathmandu.
    Bid farewell to the mystical and beautiful country of Nepal as we drop you at the airport. Any wishes for adding days to explore other places would be duly entertained by our company.

How to enter Nepal, via road ways or air ways?

If you are travelling through air then you can only enter Nepal through Tribhuvan International Airport; is the only international airport in Nepal that operates several international flights on a daily basis. The airport is located in the capital city: Kathmandu, which is a popular hub for tourists visiting Nepal.

If you are travelling through road ways then you can either enter from China Border and India Boarder but before entering Nepal you should report yourself to Nepal Entry/Exit Points. Some of road entry/exit points are:

From China: Rasuwagadi Border & Kodari Border.

From India: Dhangadi, Kanchanpur, Nepalgunj, Birgunj, Kakarvitta, Bhairahawa
