  • Jomson:

Located at an altitude of 2740 meters above sea level beneath the high Nilgiri and Dhaulagiri mountains, Jomsom is a key administrative hub for both the public and commercial sectors. As most of the tourists start their Upper Mustang Trek from Jomsom so it is also called Gateway to the Forbidden Kingdom.

  • Muktinath:

As the name suggests this place is known as the “place of salvation” and is a very sacred place for both the Hindus and Buddhists. This Bishnu temple is located at an altitude of 3710m above sea level at the base of Thorang La Mountain Pass. This place is believed to be the mouth of Lord Bishnu So, there is a strong belief that bathing under 108 waterspouts brings them salvation which is why everyone has a dream to visit this place at least once in a lifetime.

  • Damodar Kunda:

This place is believed to be the source of the Kaligandaki River. According to Hindu Mythology, this lake is considered as the Head of Lord Bishnu. Hindus believe that dipping into this holy lake will allow them to experience sacramental divinity and atone for all their sins.

  • Lomanthang:

The capital city of upper mustang is another place in the Upper Mustang Trek was a formal Royal Palace that has now become a culturally rich place. It is now called Nepal’s lost forbidden kingdom as well as the country’s semi-desert.
